+We organise weekly reading sessions in Chinese and fortnightly sessions in English. Recent texts studied include the Confucian Analects and the Mengzi etc. Members volunteer to lead the sessions, and the atmosphere is informal so as to encourage open thought and discussion. We enjoy having the company of people from various disciplines and backgrounds and gaining new perspectives on the ancient texts.

-During the University term-time, we organise regular reading sessions: weekly ones in Chinese (oriented primarily torwards native Chinese speakers; recent texts include [[:reading group:lunyu|the Analects of Confucius]], [[:reading group:tao|the Dao De Jing]] otherwise known as the Laozi. ) and bi-weekly ones in English (oriented primarily torwards non-native Chinese speakers; recent text include the Doctrine of Mean). Other events include traditional [[tea party|Chinese tea ceremonies]], talks, as well as social events. Whether you are a keen reader of Chinese classicsor just want to find out more about traditional Chinese culture, you are most welcome to join. Membership is free, and you will receive weekly newsletters about our events.+Aside from reading groups, we regularly organise educational and cultural activities such as public talks, traditional Chinese tea ceremonies and tea yoga in order to appreciate various aspects of traditional Chinese culture.
